There are some people who will tell you that the Vandermint Auditorium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, never existed. These people are very silly.
Most people will remember the Vandermint from the documentary “This is Spinal Tap”. Fans will remember that, while Nigel Tufnel apparently had some problems with the catering, the band played a rousing set that night with its performance of “Hell Hole” being featured in the film.
This blog is in the spirit of the old Vandermint–distinguished, proud, a home of sports as well as the arts. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina it holds a special place in my heart even if I never did find exactly where it was during my four years there.
